From November 29th to December 6th I will be visiting Chile, being invited by Istituto Italiano di Cultura in Santiago. I will give two lectures: the first one on 29th of November at the University of Magallanes in Punta Arenas, Patagonia, where I will join a seminar session – organised in collaboration with Encuentro Lumen festival – which theme will be “Expedientes Bío Oceánicos: aproximaciones a 500 años de imaginación del mundo”, presenting together with Beatrice Ferrara a paper entitled “Escuchando el estrecho de Magallanes: cruces de sonido en el Sur global”. The second one will take place in Valparaíso as a part of the seminar session entitled “Territorios sonoros”, in the programme of activities of the 2018 edition of the festival Tsonami, in collaboration with University of Valparaíso. My lecture, which title is “Una idea sonora del Sur: prácticas del sonido en Chile”, is planned on 3rd of December. Finally, on 5th of December there will be – again as a part of the Tsonami 2018 festival – the opening event of the sonic art exhibition “Alteridades de lo invisible”, that I will be curating together with Fernando Godoy and presenting works by Alma Laprida, Giuliano Obici and David Vélez.
I will be curating – together with Beatrice Ferrara – the fifth edition of Liminaria that will take place in four different sessions: from 29th June to 1st of July in Riccia, Molise region; from 16th to 22nd of July in Guardia Sanframondi, Sannio region; from 20th to 26th of August in Sapri, Cilento region; from 28th October to 4th November in Palermo, where our project will be collateral event of Manifesta12. Artists in residence are Marco Messina, Alyssa Moxley, Sarah Waring, Julian Henriques, Nicola Di Croce, Budhaditya Chattopadhyay, Salomé Voegelin, Daniele Ledda, Luca Buoninfante, Vacuamoenia, canecapovolto, Alessandra Eramo, Fernando Godoy, David Velez.
I have been invited to take part in the workshop entitled “Soundmapping: A critical history of sonic cartographies” organised by SUPSI – University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland, coordinated by Lorena Rocca and Xabier Erkizia and directed by Hillel Schwartz. As an international cooperation project by the Swiss National Science Fundation, this workshop will take place from 19th to 22nd of March. On 19th of April, I will be at Università degli Studi di Urbino “Carlo Bo”, invited by Alessandra Calanchi, in order to present my research in the framework of the “Giornatesonore” days.
