Visiting Chile for Encuentro Lumen and Tsonami festivals

15.11.2018

From November 29th to December 6th I will be visiting Chile, being invited by Istituto Italiano di Cultura in Santiago. I will give two lectures: the first one on 29th of November at the University of Magallanes in Punta Arenas, Patagonia, where I will join a seminar session – organised in collaboration with Encuentro Lumen festival – which theme will be “Expedientes Bío Oceánicos: aproximaciones a 500 años de imaginación del mundo”, presenting together with Beatrice Ferrara a paper entitled “Escuchando el estrecho de Magallanes: cruces de sonido en el Sur global”. The second one will take place in Valparaíso as a part of the seminar session entitled “Territorios sonoros”, in the programme of activities of the 2018 edition of the festival Tsonami, in collaboration with University of Valparaíso. My lecture, which title is “Una idea sonora del Sur: prácticas del sonido en Chile”, is planned on 3rd of December. Finally, on 5th of December there will be – again as a part of the Tsonami 2018 festival – the opening event of the sonic art exhibition “Alteridades de lo invisible”, that I will be curating together with Fernando Godoy and presenting works by Alma Laprida, Giuliano Obici and David Vélez.
