From July 6 to 20 I will be in Japan to curate – together with Yukiko Shikata and Aya Murakami – the ‘Energies in the Rural’ exhibition, which will open at ACAC – Aomori Contemporary Art Centre on Saturday 8 July and close on 3 August. In the following days, after the opening talk of the exhibition together with Yukiko Shikata, the performance of the ‘Manifesto of Rural Futurism’ together with Soichiro Mihara and a short curatorial residency in the rural area of Aomori, I will be engaged in a programme of public events on 16 July at the engawanoie art centre in Fukushima prefecture, in a talk with Yukiko Shikata and Yosaku Matsutani, on 17 July at the Italian Cultural Institute in Tokyo, in a panel together with Nicola Di Croce, Aya Murakami and Yukiko Shikata and finally on 18 July at BnA Alter Museum in Kyoto, in a talk with Soichiro Mihara.

Between May and June, I will involved in a series of public events in Romania and Italy. Firstly I will head off to Bucharest, where I have been invited by Annamaria Pravicencu to curate a listening session scheduled on 31 May at the headquarters of the Italian Institute of Culture. The following day, I will present, together with Bogdan Iancu and Irina Botea Bucan, the Romanian translation of the ‘Manifesto of Rural Futurism’ at the Centrul de studii vizuale. In Pistoia, I will participate with a series of sound works in the exhibition “Mezz’aria. La strana apertura della ricerca sonora’, that will take place at the Museo del Novecento e del Contemporaneo in Palazzo Fabroni from May 19 to July 25. Lastly, I will be in Stromboli on 21 and 22 June to curate a sound intervention by Hideki Umezawa and Giuseppe Cordaro within the ‘Marosi’ performing arts festival.

Between October and November I will give two lectures on the topic of the Manifesto of Rural Futurism. The first lecture is scheduled on 10th October and will take place in Reykjavik, Iceland, at the Hafnar Haus (16:00 GMT), jointly organised by Bifrost University – Háskólinn á Bifröst and the Icelandic Institute for Future Studies – FramtíðarseturIslands . Then, on 12 November (18:00 CET), I will give a performative lecture in Brescia during the RAAA festival, being invited by artistic director Fabrizio Saiu. The location of the lecture will be Spaziocontemporanea in Corsetto Sant’Agata 22 (ground floor).
